1) High G dryer shale shaker
Applications of High G dryer shale shaker: It is mainly used to treat water base mud drilling cuttings (WBM). Drill cuttings from solids control shale shaker, desander, desilter or mud cleaner will be transferred to high G dryer shale shaker. Screw conveyer, cuttings transfer pump or vacuum pump can be used for the transfer of drill cuttings and feeding for the high G dryer shale shaker.
2) Drilling waste decanter centrifuge
It is a 14 inch high speed decanter centrifuge specially designed for drilling waste management system. And the centrifuge is controlled by a VFD control panel with PLC system for smart control. There are many companies in China declared for centrifuge making, but very fewer of them is designed and made per drilling waste management application. And many of GN customers in China, they said they have centrifuges for their solids control system, but once they use it for drilling waste management, it is completely unworkable, too many problems. When they tried GN drilling waste management centrifuge, they are satisfied and decide to follow with GN although GN price is higher than normal China brand.
Many customer wondering why drilling waste centrifuge different with solids control centrifuge and price higher. The reason is that, they are used to treat different materials. Drill cuttings have a high density and viscosity than the drill mud, and the solids content is high than the drill mud.
3) Feeding pump for decanter centrifuge and transfer screw pump to transfer mud from centrifuge tank to outside tanks.

Many customers wonder: we choose a centrifuge with max. 30cbm capacity, why the real capacity is far more less? Is it the centrifuge un-certified? Similar to a car, the car manufacturer will give a max. speed of the car can reach, but actually, it can never reach it. It widely depends on the drivers skill, the road condition, the speed limitation, the requirement of people in the car, and so on. And centriguge is the same.
To answer this question, we should know the exact meaning of Centrifuge Capacity. On decanter centrifuge data sheet, there are different description for treating capacity: Max. capacity, typical capacity or a performance chart. Typical capacity is more widely used to specify the centrifuge performance. The Typical Capacity on centrifuge data sheet is gaven under a certain condition, it is not for general condition.The mafanucturer will give description of it.
Mostly, centrifuge manufacturer give typical max. capacity as hydraulic test. As different jobsite have different mud condition. For different mud density and viscosity, the centrifuge handling capacity is much different. It is difficult to compare parameters for customer if the max. capacity is under different condition.
Below are somes reasons may affect centrifuge performance:
1) Centrifuge size : the bowl diameter and bowl length
It is the main parameters to affect centrifuge capacity. Normally speaking, the bigger of the bowl size, the bigger of centrifuge max. capacity (hydraulic test). But it is not meant big bowl centrifuge is the best choice for bigger capacity. Customer should consider the material condition, the result they want to get after separation to choose the suitable model. For different mud condition, specially for drilling waste management, different centrifuge model suits.
2) The mud condition before centrifuge treatment
The mud condition have big effect on the centrifuge real capacity. For centrifuge with hydraulic test 30cbm, with mud, capacity may half reduced or even more. And the heavier of the mud, the smaller the capacity.
3) The parameter settings of the mud
The bowl speed, conveyer speed and the fluids outlet height setting will also affect the centrifuge capacity and the centrifuge performance. So when the centrifuge arrived jobsite, per customers detailed request, GN Solids control company recommend customer to test with their real mud to find out the best separation result, the max. capacity of the centrifuge under this condition. Or they find an equal of capacity and separation result.
4) The performance result customer choose will also affect the capacity. Just like a car, if you want very smooth driving, the speed should not be as high as normal.
For professional users, they can have an idear about the real capacity of centrifuge from data sheet manufactuere give with their rich experience. But for most customers, it is better to have more communciatios with the centrifuge manufacturer, let them know more of your project, to make sure a suitable centrifuge model.

GN is making 4 complete sets HDD mud recovery system for CHINA PETROLEUM PIPELING BUREAU(China CPP). The first 2 sets is ready for shipment now.
Many visitors to GN Beijing factory showed great interest in this customized system. Here is a brief introduction of the system.
It is a 4-stage mud solids control separation system, with capacity can reach up to 1000GPM. The system is including following equipment:
1) 1 set Mud desander cleaner GNZJ705-2S, with double deck shale shaker GNZS705. It is for the first and second stage separation.
2) 1 set Mud desilter cleaner GNZJ705-12N, with double deck shale shaker GNZS705. It is for the first and third stage separation.
3) 2 sets middle speed decanter centrifuge GNLW452. It is the 4th stage separation machine. Centrifuges here are used for reduce the mud weight. As the total system reaches up to 1000GPM capacity with dual shakers. Here we matched 2 sets decanter centrifuge for a bigger capacity. It can separate solids to 5~7microns. With centrifuge, the mud can be separated more clean and suits for more deeper drilling.
4) To avoid mud settle down within the tank, GN equipped 1 ea mud agitator under each decanter centrifuge. So totally 2 mud agitators for the system.
Both of the double deck shale shaker, the bottom deck screen can be used for shale shaker. The upper deck is used as desander or desilter separator. The 2 shakers are collected through mud distribution box, and controlled by pipes and vales for mud feeding.
The double deck desander mud cleaner and desilter mud cleaner are equal to 2 sets single deck shale shaker, a separate desander and desilter machine. But it is more compact than the 3 separated machine and takes a smaller footprint.
It is a 2-tank mud system. The same with all other systems to CPP, the tank size is the same with 20ft standard container. And it is equipped with container lifting eyes. 2 sets mud cleaner on tank 1#, both of the mud cleaners are mounted on a 20ft size ski8d with frame. While the dual decanter centrifuges located on tank 2# are mounted on another 20ft skid with frame. It is easy for customer to move and mount equipment at jobsite. They only need to lift or remove the 20ft skid frame during shipment.

Decanter centrifuge is the most important equipment for drilling waste management field. It can be used for waste water treatment, slurry separation, oily sludge separation, etc…
Application of decanter centrifuge for waste management field
1) Decanter centrifuge can be used together with high G shale shaker to treat water base mud drilling cuttings. Water base drilling cuttings is treated by high G shale shaker, after shaker, goes to decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids.
2) Decanter centrifuge can be used together with vertical cuttings dryer to treat oil base mud and synthetic based mud drilling cuttings.
Oil base mud and synthetic based mud drilling cuttings from tank bottom, shale shaker, desander desilter or offshore rig, are treated by vertical cuttings dryer first, after vertical cuttings dryer, goes to decanter centrifuge to separate the fine solids.
There are so many companies declared for decanter centrifuge manufacturing, but do you know how to choose the right decanter centrifuge and optimize the centrifuge performance?
Firstly, the reliable brand should be chose depends on the applications. For centrifuge brand section, you should check with the supplier, if their centrifuge have been used for the similar applications and the performance, or at least their reference on waste management field.
If their centrifuge mainly used for solids control mud system, most probably, it will not suits for waste management. As for waste management, the material is more critical, high solids content and high abrasion. If request the centrifuge should be very reliable on design (feeding port, solids discharge port, screw protection, control panel, etc…) and excellent on material choose.
Secondly, choose a suitable model per your application: high speed / high G force / big bowl / super high speed… There are so many design. You should choose the most suitable model per your material condition and the performance you want to get.
For example, if you want a normal system to do service, you want the system can treat more kinds of drilling cuttings, OBM, SBM, WBM, GNLW363CG-VFD decanter centrifuge should be suitable. It is a 14 in centrifuge with adjustable speed for different application.
Then, even for the same centrifuge model, the different fluids level height, bowl speed, conveyor speed, feeding capacity, jobsite layout, feeding type will affect the performance greatly. That is the reason why centrifuge request a professional operator together. Decanter centrifuge has high request on operators’ capability than solids control system. Many jobsite, they have good machine, but do not equipped with professional operator, so also problems.

Drilling waste management equipment for 2015 OTC oil show
1) 22 inch Big bowl decanter centrifuge, model GNLW553C-VFD
The centrifuge model is made per international high standard. It is a big bowl centrifuge specially designed for drilling waste management. The centrifuge is with a big bowl 22 inch dia. and 71 inch in length. As drilling waste management request higher standard equipment. With the specially design for drilling waste management field, this centrifuge performance excellent as well in solids control system.
Besides used for drilling waste management, GNLW553C-VFD is widely used for mud solids control system in rig site, especially in U.S and European, where the rig site do not use desander and desitler. At the beginning of 2015, GN get an repeat order from one of our valuable clients with 32 units of drilling mud decanter centrifuge with 40 units of screw pumps, we shipped them in 2 batches, the first batch 16 units centrifuges are shipped before Chinese traditional Spring Festival, and the rest 16 units are shipped after we come back from the long holiday.
The centrifuge is utilized for fine solids separation at high speed and barite recovery with low speed, there are 2 ways to get them used in different speed:
1 equipped with variable frequency drive control panel, it can adjust from 0 to 3200rpm. It is a easy way for operator, but the VFD control panel cost a lot.
2 equipped with different size pulleys, when you need to use it for different speed, you can just replace the pulley, it is a economic way.
Not only for Solids Control,these decanter centrifuges can also be used for drilling cuttings treatment system, dewatering system, both for oil based drilling mud and water based drilling fluids.
