What is the centrifugal degasser?


Centrifugal degasser is a kind of degasser device. It is used after shale shaker to kill the small bubble in the drilling fluids.
What are the advantages of centrifugal degasser?
1) The centrifugal degasser has a high working efficiency for gas removing.
2) The centrifugal degasser is easy for operation and maintenance.
3) The centrifugal degasser owns a very compact design for a small foot print on tank top. It can save more free space on the tank for other equipment laying out.
4) The centrifugal degasser does not need a separate vacuum pump. As the vacuum pump may generate little gas during working. The centrifugal degasser does not have this risk.
Besides centrifugal degasser, is there other kind of degasser equipment?
Besides centrifugal degasser, GN Solids Control has another 2 kinds of degasser equipment: poor boy degasser and vacuum degasser.
Poor boy degasser is used after choke manifolds, but before shale shaker in the mud system. It is to remove the big size gas bubble in case there is. Mostly, it does not need to be used for many years. But the same as a fire Extinguisher, every oil and gas drilling rig mud system should be equipped with poor boy degasser.
Vacuum degasser has the same function as centrifugal degasser. It is more popular than centrifugal degasser. It is used after solids control shale shaker, but before hydro cyclones. It has a bigger size and takes a bigger footprint on the tank system.
