Centrifuge Separator and Decanter Centrifuge both can be used for solid liquid separation by Centrifugal force.

Here are the difference of Centrifuge Separator and Decanter Centrifuge.

1. Disc Stack Separator is feeding slurry from top or below, while Decanter Centrifuge is feeding slurry horizontally.

2. The sludge feeding into decanter centrifuge has relatively high content of solids, and bigger size of solids. While the sludge feeding into centrifuge separator has some limitation, including its size cannot be too big, and solid content shall be less than 3%.

3. Disc Stack Separator’s inner rotating part is a group of disc plates, and different phases, including Solid, Water, Oil. They are separated on the inclined plates and accumulated at different position of the bowl, and then discharged from different outlets of the separator. The Decanter Centrifuge has screw inside, which is used to push the separated solids to solids drying area, and then discharged out from Solids Outlet.
