Shaker screen is a major wearing spare parts of drilling rigs, and it is a big cost. Clients need to change it periodically once they start drilling. Per clients’ request, GN Solids Control keeps improving his shaker screen processing technology for a shorter leading time, a more reliable performance and a longer lifetime. After many years’ research, GN engineering team upgraded all his screen models to be composite material type.

Why GN want to made all screens from composite materials:
1) Composite materials can be made automatically, less manpower involved. Less manpower and more automatically machine made means a higher efficiency and a better quality control.
2) Composite material is much more reliable than the steel frame. The screens are with a less weight, but the lifetime nearly double.
3) Compared to metal frame, the composite frame useable area is 10% to 20 % larger.
4) Since the composite frame is covered by plastic, it is rust resistant for long time storage up to over 5 years.

Recently, a full container composite material replacement screen will be shipped for a Middle East project. Besides shaker screen, some solids control shale shakers will also be shipped for the client. It is a 4-panel linear motion shale shaker with GN patent design. The full container’s screens are for GN shakers. Furthermore, GN 4-panel shale shaker utilizes the same size shaker screens as Swaco Mongoose shaker and mud cleaner. Clients can also use the screens for his old Mongoose shakers.

Before the clients made decision, they contact with GN for a long time, and also compared with other Chinese and U.S companies, but finally they decided to buy from GN. As they thought GN high quality products can help them doing well and get more benefit. GN owns many patents for his own brand shaker. Some patent design even copied by his U.S peers.
