Below are some of the different applications of GN high quality decanter centrifuge in oil and gas drilling field:
1) GN high quality decanter centrifuge can be used after shale shaker, desander and desilter for barite recovery. The function is to recovery the valuable barite from the drilling fluids for reuse. And reduce the mud weight to make it qualified for drilling activities.
Recommended model for barite recovery application is GNLW452 series. It is middle speed big bowl centrifuge. It is with 18’’ bowl and with a single motor middle speed. The normal standard is fixed speed control for GNLW452 series centrifuge. GN also offers VFD control for GNLW452 centrifuge.
2) GN high quality decanter centrifuge can be used to remove the ultra fine solids and reduce the weight of the mud. Hydro cyclone separators can only move solids above 30 microns. And middle speed centrifuge can remove solids above 5 ~ 7 microns. And they are not D100 (100%) separator. After some circulations, the fines solids content will be higher and higher. The drilling fluids will be very heavy and not suitable for drilling activities. High speed centrifuge can be used to remove the fine solids around 2~5 microns to reduce the mud weight.
GNLW363 series is a classic 14’’ centrifuge widely used for fine solids separation. GN offers mechanical speed changing and the automatically speed changing. Clients can choose fixed speed control and changing the pulley and belt to change speed. Clients can choose VFD speed control to get a more wide speed and differential speed scope.
3) Compared with 14’’ centrifuge, 18’’ centrifuge and 22’’ are worked as big bowl for big volume at the oil and gas drilling field.
